It is now more than 500 years since Martin Luther tried to focus liturgy on the figure of Jesus and humanity in general. Cappella Pratensis explores how a ‘humane mass’ of this kind might have sounded in the 16th century. Their concert is based on Heinrich Isaac’s Missa Carminum, based in turn on a whole series of German ‘pop songs’ of the era.
