The movements of the celestial bodies have particularly fascinated human beings for many centuries. In the models of Renaissance astronomers and philosophers, the sun, moon and the five planets known at the time were portrayed in universal harmony: the Harmony of the Spheres. In the 16th and 20th centuries, proportions became very important in the arts, from architecture to music. ORLANDOviols takes those mathematical proportions and explores the musical concepts based on them in a spatial context. The ensemble breaks with the traditional idea of a stage at the front and puts the audience at the heart of the performance. Fifteen speakers and a lighting rig create a concert experience unlike any other!
