Vox Luminus has conquered audiences in Belgium and abroad in recent years with the light in their voices. At the abbey church in Tongerlo, they offer their refined interpretation of music by the two great masters of the Spanish Renaissance, Tomás Luis de Victoria and Cristobal de Morales. They will sing of the mysteries of both birth and death, oxygen for the souls of those yet to come and those who have passed away. The highlight is De Victoria’s final work, his Officium defunctorum or Office for the Dead, composed for the funeral of Empress Maria, the daughter of Charles V and sister of Philip II of Spain.
