The soprano Griet De Geyter will perform one of her dream projects at Musica Divina. Along with Il Gardellino and the organist Bart Jacobs, she brings together three grand masters of the German Baroque in a single programme. She will present a new spiritual concert, with work by Dietrich Buxtehude, Georg Philip Telemann and Johann Sebastian Bach. The finale is Bach’s cantata Mein Herz schwimmt in Blut. This composition is a perfect example of the way Bible texts were used at the time to evoke ‘conditions of the soul’, It is a cantata in which an inner development occurs, giving extra oxygen to the soul.
