The four seasons

Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien

Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is probably one of the best-known compositions of all time. Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien, in turn, are one of the most exciting ensembles in France. The ensemble’s artistic leader, François Lazarevitch, creates a sensation with this piece as well, performing the entire piece on unusual solo instruments: the recorder, traverso and... musette, a type of bagpipes. She drew inspiration from the adaptation of the Four Seasons by Nicolas Chédeville. The unexpected timbres enable us to listen with new ears to the dancing shepherds, breaking storm and the gathering in of the harvest.

« With superlative virtuosity, François Lazarevitch and his musicians whirl the listener away, leaving him with his head in the stars. » (Philippe Venturini, Classica)
