Due to health reasons, Carolina Eyck cannot perform. She will be replaced by theremin musician Grégoire Blanc.

Grégoire Blanc is renowned as a promising artist, and is regularly invited to perform in various contexts: classical concerts, contemporary theater and dance performances, lectures, studio recordings all around the world, from Canada to Kazakhstan. We are delighted to bring him on stage during Musica Divina in Herentals together with BRYGGEN Bruges Strings conducted by Jolente De Maeyer. Grégoire Blanc will also perform Clair de Lune by C. Debussy. This will remain on the programme, along with works by Arvo Pärt and Grégoire Blanc himself, among others.

Carolina Eyck is celebrated worldwide as the best theremin player of our time. With her live shows and her very popular online films and tutorials, she has brought her special instrument back into the spotlight. Especially for Musica Divina, she has put together a unique programme with Jolente De Maeyer and the Bryggen string orchestra. It focuses on her own work for voice, theremin and strings alongside compositions by Pĕteris Vasks and Philip Glass.

Davidsfonds Academy and Musica Divina give you the opportunity to experience the concert theme in all its glory. With a guided tour of the Sint-Waldetrudis church, an inspiring lecture by Virginie Platteau and a communal meal, you will be fully prepared for an intense experience of the concert.
