In Monte Sioneum

Cappella Mariana

Abbeys weekend

The composer Philippus De Monte, aka Prince of Music, was born 500 years ago in Mechelen. He breathed his last 82 years later, in Prague. That is reason enough to invite the Prague-based ensemble Cappella Mariana. For Musica Divina, they will play In Monte Sioneum, vespers for the festival of St Norbert. In that way we will be honouring both the last of the Flemish Polyphonists and the Norbertine Order that is nine centuries old this year.
