Marlies De Munck
Musica Divina 2023 starts with a reflection by Marlies De Munck centred around the festival theme Caring for one another and the role music plays in this. Marlies De Munck is a philosopher, teacher and essayist. She teaches philosophy of music and aesthetics at UAntwerpen and regularly writes opinion pieces for De Standaard. She published the essays Waarom Chopin de regen niet wilde horen (2017), De vlucht van de nachtegaal (2019), Nabijheid: Kunst en onderwijs na Covid-19 (2020, with Pascal Gielen) and Ik zie bergen weer als bergen (2021).
